The Reverend to Return to True Blood

Hollywood crush MTV.com reports that the character of Reverend Steve Newlin will return to season 3 of True Blood. Mike McMillian who portrays the Fellowship of the Sun reverend on the show. He told Amy Wilkinson that his character will be back in season 3!

"I think like any good villain he's going to go away and lick his wounds for a while. But I think he suffered major humiliation toward the end of season two, and now I would imagine the Stackhouses are even higher on his list. If it was personal before with his father being killed, then it's really personal now with the Stackhouses humiliating him."

Fans of Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books  may not be surprised to learn of the return of the FoTS. In the third book of the series titled "Club Dead" there is a big plot item involving the FoTS. However Alan Ball has stated that he does not use the books exactly (but tries to stick to the "spirit of the books").  I truly enjoyed the interaction between the Viking Vampire and the Fellowship followers when he was rescuing Sookie. Who knew that Alexander Skarsgard could make Eric seem a bit "dorky". It was quite the change from the powerful presence the Vampire Sheriff normally had on True Blood. click here for a link to the Hollywood MTV article

MTV has an additional blog "Splash" who covered the appearance of Mike at the recent Comic Con held in  Long Beach, California. Mike has written a four part mini-series titled "Lucid".

"In "Lucid," readers are presented with a world in which the United States has achieved a new Golden Age of sorts, presided over by President Jefferson Monday. Keeping the nation safe against evil forces is the Department of Secrets and one of its chief officers, a "covert spy and combat mage," Matthew Dee." click here for link to the Splash blog interview with Mike discussing Lucid.
