Episode 2.10 Recap
Sunday night HBO gave us another action filled episode. "New world in my view" started off with another dream sequence showing Sookie having certain thoughts about Eric. In her dream she consoles Eric who is desolate about Godric's death. The bloody tears on his face and chest made him look like he had been crying for Godric. The images below are screen caps from that scene. I know I was very happy to see some of the "dream". It looks like the blood Sookie ingested from Eric is causing her to feel some of what Eric was probably feeling.
When Sookie awakens from this dream, Jason is next to her asking her what were YOU dreaming about. We know the answer but she tells Jason it was Bill. Sookie and Jason arrive in Bon Temps and are shocked by what they see. The town looks like there had been a riot but it was all the result of Maryanne's influence on the residents. Tara is rescued by Lafayette and her mother Lettie Mae but it is Sookie who finally is able to draw out Tara from Maryanne's grip. Bill helps Sookie with the process by glamouring Tara. It was interesting to see what lay behind the "black eyes of possession". Those under Maryanne's grip seem to be in a mental fog or under water so everything they see does not really seem to be real.

It was a bit of comic relief to see Jason a la Rambo style! Who in their right mind would let Jason own a chain saw? Oh well at least he is helping to restore Bon Temps. One of my favorite scenes was the interaction between Jessica and Maxine, who is quite mad from Maryanne's influence. Who knew Maxine knew how to play Wii? I cant wait to see if Jessica does take matters in her own hands (or should I say fangs...) next week. The rest of the episode had moments when the action seemed to drag a bit but did end with yet another big question for the fans. What is Bill doing at the Queen's residence? Is he there to ask for her help in driving Maryanne out of Bon Temps? As a fan of the books I know what I want the real reason to be. But not going to spoil it for those who have not read the books.
